Hello,
At work we express ourselves verbally, but we also express ourselves visually. Style is that visual voice. And it’s important. We spend about half of our lives at work, so we need to feel comfortable that how we present ourselves is a true expression of who we are. This can be daunting. Often, we’re more confident about what we say, than being able to articulate a personal style because we don’t have enough options to draw from. We express our humanity or flair through words but don’t know how to translate that into our clothes.
This is where experimentation comes in. It extends your repertoire. If there’s one big tip I can give you to find your work style it’s to experiment every day, drawing on your own creativity or that of those around you. If that means feeling a little bit of fear by being out of your comfort zone, so be it. Try something new that you haven’t done before and you will build the courage and the skills along the way.
I am providing these eight curations as inspiration and to give you some new ideas for your work (and events). There are a range of colour combinations, flattering cuts and styles, asymmetry throughout and exaggerated bows and accessories. You don’t have to replicate these outfits in full, just pick up on some of the ideas. For example, if you haven’t thought of accenting green with blue before, that suddenly becomes an option. Or casualising a statement skirt with a jumper. Intertwining a couple of scarves to create a bow neckline. Play around a bit. Have fun.
Enjoy
Love
