Although winter fashion to most may conjure up images of comfy warm clothes, I see it as a season to make an effort in brightening up your work wardrobe, otherwise you can easily fall into a rut that instigates low mood and sadness. There are so many creative ways to look smart, stylish and vibrant in winter at work. Here are ELEVEN outfits to inspire you into giving you winter work style a lift, hence brightening your  mood. You will see some black, however a dash of colour added for softness, mainly blue. There is something for all here with colours, asymmetric styles, wrap, leather, lace, and prints, and to suit a variety of body shapes and personalities – the bold & daring, the elegant & sophisticated, the edgy & quirky. Remember these are inspirations to help you think a little differently about your style and hopefully experiment.

Let me know if you would like some help.

Enjoy.

Trousers:

Leather trousers aren’t necessarily just for the evening. If teamed up with a feminine lace blouse such as this and a long uneven hem vest to go over, they could become a chic work staple. Adding the touch of blue breaks up the harshness of heavy fabrics keeping it soft for winter.

Plaid high waist 3/4 length trousers can be a refreshing addition to your winter wardrobe, especially worn with a clashing animal print ankle boots and a fitted red jacket.

Skirts:

For those that can’t go past some vibrant colour in the winter. This fabulous asymmetric skirt is a powerful statement. Go the extra mile for standing out with the fuchsia wrap jacket and spotted pink boots.

For the black lovers, this classic flared midi black skirt and chic lace balloon sleeve blouse is a class act. Breaking up the black with printed animal print shoes and blue crystal earrings – for softness.

The pretty lace wrap blouse is an excellent match to clash with the skirt, as is the animal print handbag. And wow those ankle wrap shoes are show stoppers. Don’t hold back in this flamboyant work outfit.

Dresses:Olive green doesn’t suit many. This is however a particularly flattering tone, and so luxurious in velvet feel, ruched asymmetrical style dress. The butterfly embroidered pumps finishes this ultra feminine dress off nicely.

This all in one (two part) dress is practical and flattering. And why not wear a little white in winter, it still seems to be taboo -oh dear.
