The Fusion Of Decor & Style

Hello,

Humans respond to beauty. It’s uplifting and enriching. We love to be surrounded by it and we love creating it in our surrounds. It increases our sense of wellbeing.

In my past life as an interior designer I created spaces with a distinct ambience to suit the personality of my clients. This is very much what I do with clothing. And while I don’t have rules, per se, I do believe in three principles that underpin the creation of beauty on and off the body: colour, form, composition. Irrespective of if you are bourgeois bohemian, Avant Garde, minimalist or classic, these three principles apply.

You’ll see them reflected through the four delightful interiors and the outfits I created to complement.

With love and style

Bohemian Splendour: A New York Apartment by Designer Alex PapachristidisFor the bourgeois bohemian, a variety of rich textures, clashing patterns and colours make this library intriguing and inviting. It invokes drama, theatre and sophistication. It has the elements of Christian Lacroix with it’s eclectic mix of objects and patterns.

This is reflected in an outfit for the glamorous nomadic who loves to entertain. She sashays through the room in this dramatic silk dress with waves of psychedelic cascading colours reflecting that of the carpet. A Lacroix’s vintage necklace mirrors the crown in the painting. Her animal print and velvet clutch echo the cushions in the luscious lounge. And the jewel cuffs climbing up the arm taking this outfit next level, with the question being asked- is she a modern day Cleopatra commanding lead and attention?

Rustic Hideaway: The interiors of a Bali villa designed by Architect Luigi Roselli.Although this is a Balinese villa it could also be somewhere in Mexico, or on an Argentinian ranch or in Tuscany by the sea. Whatever its location, there is relaxed rustic and natural feel to this place.

The midi lace detailed gypsy skirt reflects the old textured walls, and an interesting asymmetrical cotton one-sleeve top and beautiful embellished handbag complete the composition.

Golden Paradise: This Parisian penthouse designed by Boca Do Lobo Design Studio. Here it’s all about classic and contemporary coming together in the heart of Paris with a gold dining table, gold chairs and gold lighting set against renaissance sculptures and ornate walls. This is a modern-day baroque home.

It is referenced in these baroque gold jacquard trousers teemed with a modern jacket with tulle. Gold and white butterfly earrings and a gold dove brooch represent the floating chandelier, reminiscent of birds in a tree.

Moroccan Dream: Image from Pinterest

Morocco has long been a source of enviable interior style. It has an enduring, bohemian style. Elegant, mysterious and enigmatic, Moroccan styling is luxe, yet relaxed and practical for the heat. Here a gorgeous and heady blend of French, Spanish, Persian, Islamic and African styles are apparent in this stunning Riada. You notice the dramatic patterns and colours of the mosaic tiles, the rich embellishments, classic glass lead lighting, and intricate furniture all artfully blended to create the perfect indoor oasis.

This sleek white dress with gold embroidery is an elegant fit for the interiors. The big earrings and large ring add to the drama. The flat heels are relaxed and chic and suggest you’re ready to sit down and enjoy the surroundings with an evening cocktail.
