Hello hello,
Spring! It’s officially here. The temperamental season in which we start to peel away the layers slowly, basking in the sun one minute, rugged up the next. I’ve collated nine stylish looks for work that range from elegant to daring. Leather, twists and layers feature strongly. These outfits transition easily to after-work events and will also work when Summer comes by peeling off a layer or adding an additional, softer one.
My aim as always is to inspire you to go beyond your usual style and experiment with colour, textures and different ways of putting things together, to do something different and stand out in your own unique way.
If you are unsure how, let’s chat about a style session to get you on the right track.
Enjoy
Gessica X

Trousers:These aren’t just any shorts and they’re the kind of shorts that would add a cool modern edge to your work look. Add a lurex blazer with a super large brooch and print pumps in a colour that goes back to the bag and you will create a look that is pulled together and different.
- Leather shorts from Bottega Venetta on Matches
- Lurex green jacket from Indress on Farfetch
- White t-shirt from Witchery
- Large brooch from No.21 on Farfetch
- Print ankle strap pumps from Monse on Farfetch
- Checkered handbag from Wandler on Matches
Ah, the simplicity and elegance of neutrals. This exquisite silk blouse is feminine with a structured twist. I love the flat front of the pants with a subtle flare. Add gold with a snake wrap cuff, an odd pair of dangling earrings and low pumps. Invest in a great white handbag this Spring, you’ll wear it time and again.
- Trousers from Joseph on Farfetch
- Silk blouse from Toni Maticevski
- Snake cuff from Begum Khan on Matches
- Odd match gold earrings from Mounser on Net-a-Porter
- White handbag from Miu Miu on Farfetch
- Gold pumps from Zara
Yes, for the woman with a daring soul. What a spectacular example of an unconventional suit. Adding white touches in the bag and shoes with a statement crystal necklace gives it a fresh Spring feel, whilst keeping the focus on the vibrant prints.
- Trousers from Saloni on Moda Operandi
- Jacket from Saloni on Moda Operandi
- Necklace from Chanel
- White sling back pumps from Prada on Farfetch
- Handbag from Fendi on Farfetch
Skirts:
Who said you can’t wear black in Spring? Not me. I’ve combined a skirt and jacket both of which are sculpted with twists, pleats and asymmetry that complement one another fabulously. Wear with black and white plaited pumps. You could stop there, but adding a fabulous woven bag and interesting brooch take it all the way to wow.
- Skirt from Bianca Spender
- Jacket from Monse on Farfetch
- Large orange brooch from Kenneth Lane on Net-a-Porter
- Woven heels from Zara
- Woven handbag from Kurt Geiger
This bright orange and red trim skirt is a piece of body architecture, the twists and drape make it unique. With a skirt like this you want to keep the top really simple. I’ve chosen white with an elegant chain and grounded the look with black pumps to keep it balanced. The red bag ties back nicely to the trim of the skirt. Because the skirt has a high split, add a lovely half silk or lace slip underneath.
- Skirt from Toni Maticevski
- Black belt from Alexander McQueen on Net-a-Porter
- White fine wool top from Scanlan Theodore
- Necklace from Apples & Figs on Farfetch
- Black pumps from Scanlan Theodore
- Red handbag from Wandler on Matches
This is not for the faint hearted. This haute ruffle leather skirt is stunning paired with a floral blouse and for those who want to go the extra mile, layered with a leather and gold studded vest. I’ve added gold through the boots, bag and cuff and picked up on the greens from the blouse in these elegant green crystal earrings.
- Leather skirt from Saint Laurent on Matches
- Floral blouse from Zimmerman
- Leather and gold studs vest from Ixiah
- Gold cuff from Sonia Boyajian on Matches
- Earrings from Mimco
- Leather bag from Fendi on Matches
- Gold Boots from Zara
Dresses:
I mean, hello! This beige, mid-length leather dress is ten out of ten. Add a white, belted jacket and slingback pumps. The subtle, cornflower blue goes beautifully with the beige leather, lifting and softening. The look is simple and contemporary.
- Leather dress from Andrea Bogosian from Farfetch
- White jacket from Pinko on Farfetch
- Belt from Scanlan Theodore
- White slingback pumps from Fendi on Farfetch
- Blue handbag from Boyy on Moda Operandi
- Long drop blue earrings from Monica Vinader on Farfetch
This structured, high neck pink dress is pretty as it is, but add a flower brooch in the same colour family and it elevates it to something really special. I love this sleeve detail. I’ve added a bit of jazz with the bag and snake print pumps.
- Dress from Emilia Wickstead on Farfetch
- Flower brooch from Marni on Farfetch
- Snake print pumps from Aquazzura on Farfetch
- Handbag from Zac Zac Posen on Farfetch
This is the quintessential Spring dress, colourful and airy. I love the loose sleeves and asymmetric hem. These white embroidered boots complement the fabric and I’ve added yellow flower earrings to make it pop. This kind of dress can handle a strong handbag, in this case, a classic red Laurent.
- Dress from Aje
- Textured belt from Forte Forte on Farfetch
- Mesh boots from Fendi on Farfetch
- Earrings from Oscar de la Renta on Farfetch
- Handbag from Saint Laurent on Farfetch
