One of my roles as a stylist is to re-create – within my client’s wardrobe- multiple ways to wear the same items.
It can be tricky to imagine ways to re-invent existing pieces, especially if you have only worn them in certain ways. Even more daunting to know how to wear new purchases multiple ways so you can justify your spend. Have you heard of Cost Per Wear (CPW)? When I purchase something new I try and find the versatility in the item creating in my head ways to wear the piece multiple ways to gain the maximum wear.
This post is a perfect example of items that can be worn multiple stylish ways.
This chestnut colour leather Midi skirt from Witchery is a flattering, affordable and versatile piece that would stand the test of time in terms of quality as well as remaining in style for years to come. With a vintage feel, this particular chestnut colour can be paired with so many amazing colours which is demonstrated below. I also show how other items such as the cord velvet jacket also from Witchery , the handbags and shoes feature several times, gaining maximum use making these pieces worth the investment. And the beauty of the cord jacket is it can easily be worn with jeans, dresses and other skirts dressed down or up.
Although I curated 5 different ways, don’t stop there, there were so many other ways, different colours to complement the brown, I could have created many more. These inspirations are perfect example of sustainability: quality, cost effective, style longevity.
I’ve also created a video below to accompany this collection where I describe the pieces and guide you how to wear them and you can even shop the board directly. Watch the video below and click HERE to shop the board directly or click on the links below.
Enjoy

I love the different textures at play here with the leather skirt, cord jacket and silk camisole. The beauty of a jacket like this is it can be dressed up as demonstrated here belted or it can easily be left unopened. How gorgeous is the yellow silk scarf with white accessories against the all brown colour combination.

The skirt and jacket combination elevates to another level with a vibrant blue silk bow blouse and accents of purple with the shoes and accessories. These are magical autumn/winter colour combinations.

Bright pink with chestnut brown are such a fun duo with the pink T-shirt making the brown pop. Dress this look up by adding a large red statement necklace intertwined with a red scarf. The brown boots giving a slight 60’s feel to it all. Notice the white bag from the 1st curation features again. Remember it’s all about versatility.

This is where you can ditch the jacket and do something a little more creative. A beautiful balloon sleeve blouse with a one shoulder vest – how interesting! Add a statement necklace either just under the buttoned collar popping over the vest, or open up the collar and have the necklace sit-in inside the shirt just peaking out. The same brown boots! Edge.
